It has never been a more exciting time to join the NHS if you are interested in working with children and young people with Cerebral Palsy with the launch of CPIPS for Upper-limb surveillance.

Although based in East Sussex, we are employed by KCHFT which is an outstanding trust. We believe that the best healthcare is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working together and in partnership with other teams to provide seamless care.

We are currently seeking a B6 Occupational Therapists with minimum of 2 years post qualification experience inpaediatrics with an interest in early intervention (particularly for children under 2 years) to run joint clinics with Physiotherapy colleagues.

The post-holder will also run upper-limb/splint clinics for children who are school-age up to 18,whilst it would be an advantage to have experience of splinting this is not essential as training will be provided.

The post-holder will need to have knowledge of Cerebral Palsy and emerging neurology and be open to training others and committed to multidisciplinary team-working.

The Integrated Care Team includes Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists,Integrated Therapy Assistants and Apprentices.

The successful post-holder will work closely with B7 colleagues, Team Coordinator and Professional Lead OT to deliverhigh quality care with evidence-based practice, aspirational outcomes and child/parent engagement at the centre.

• To provide a specialist therapy service to children aged 0-19 as part of an East Sussex Children’s Integrated Therapy Service, provided by Kent Community Health Foundation Trust (KCHFT).

• The post-holder will be part of a team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants that covers early years and school years children with learning disability and complex/ multi-disciplinary needs.

• The role will include developing early intervention clinics with physiotherapy colleagues, upper-limb interventions including splinting and CPIPS.

• To be responsible for managing a complex and specialist clinical caseload.

• To provide a high quality and cost-effective clinical service to disabled children /young people and their families in collaboration with the Locality team, Professional Leads and Locality Clinical Managers.

• To be responsible for the appraisal and line supervision of Band 5 staff and/or Assistants/ Key Workers within the team in collaboration with Professional Leads and Locality Clinical Manager as appropriate.

• To be responsible for delivering specialist assessment and intervention to an identified specialist caseload of childrenwith a range of neurological, developmental and learning disabilities.

• To provide support and advice to the child/ young person, their family and other agencies involved in their care.
