Summary
We are looking for a dedicated professional to support patients through our BBV testing program, ensuring confirmatory testing and partner notification. This role involves:
✅ Providing support and education for clients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
✅ Leading pre- and post-test discussions for HIV.
✅ Ensuring a smooth transition from GUM to HIV services for newly diagnosed patients.
✅ Managing specific projects alongside the lead sexual health advisor.
✅ Delivering targeted prevention, education, and support for young and vulnerable individuals.
✅ Collaborating with key services, including Sexual Health & HIV teams, Emergency Departments, Primary Care, Safeguarding, and outreach organizations.

• Provide information and health education for clients diagnosed with HIV & sexually transmitted infections, providing support and onward referral as required.
• Support patients with inconclusive HIV results until their HIV results are ascertained.
• Provide effective partner notification (PN) in order to fulfil a public health role by securing the attendance and treatment outcomes of the contacts of patients.
• To liaise with other GUM/HIV clinics nationally to facilitate partner notification.
• To independently manage own caseload, including more challenging Provider Referral PN in HIV.
To engage with clients specifically around risk reduction and behaviour change, using evidenced based tools such as Motivational Interviewing and Behavioural Change models.
• Provide comprehensive risk assessment of patients in crisis and make onwards referrals to appropriate specialist services e.g. Psychology/Psychiatry & Substance Misuse services
