Summary


Neurophysiology Assistant

Band 2

We have an excellent opportunity to become Neurophysiology Assistant. A neurophysiology assistant who can provide excellent care to all of our patients during their neurophysiology procedures. You must enjoy working with adults, be kind, flexible, and professional and be able to work effectively with a wide range of other professionals from the department, within and outside the Trust.

You will have opportunities for training and development, including the opportunity to develop specialist skills within our services and you will be part of a supportive neurophysiology team caring for patients that attend clinic for neurophysiological procedures / assessment, offering a broad range support as clinic demands.

Communicates effectively and respectfully with patients, their relatives’ neurophysiology team and all members of the multi-professional team utilising both verbal and non-verbal communication methods.

Adapts communication methods as required for patients with sensory impairments such as hearing loss, speech difficulties, seeking support and guidance from clinicians as required.

Assists in neurophysiology EMG and EEG clinics.

Cleans EMG and EEG equipment after use.

Monitors department supplies required for EMG and EEG clinics.

Answers the telephone and assists relatives and other individuals with their enquiries in a polite and professional manner ensuring a positive impression of the organisation and self.

Ensures own practice complies with Data Protection/Confidentiality/Caldicott Principles.

Works as an effective team member and demonstrates understanding of the role of team work in the delivery of high quality care.

Demonstrates the ability to identify and report changes or concerns in relation to the patients wellbeing to the Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist or Clinical Physiologists in a timely manner.
