Role and Responsibilies

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for developing and supporting the short/medium term strategic vision for the VOW New Business Strategy. You will be proactively targeting new prospects with the objective of selling VOW’s value proposition – heavily focused on facilities supplies (janitorial, cleaning & catering) but the freedom to sell any other category across our product portfolio of 20k skus. You will:

  • Articulate our value proposition, key features and benefits of VOW whilst strategically targeting an assigned prospect pool.
  • Work closely with the customers with a combination of Telesales, face to face meetings and a consultative approach to win, development and build on any already formed strategic relationships.
  • You will ensure that you will work in line with the VOW New Business Strategy and be driven to achieve those objectives and goals.
  • Agreeing clear objectives and tactics to win new customers and achieve margin growth for both the customer and VOW.
  • Fully understanding and utilising the full library of services offered by VOW to grow the Customers Sales and profitability.
  • Working with Colleagues associated to the day to day running of customers such as: Credit Control, Transport, Inventory, Marketing, Product Management, Pricing, Demand planning & Customer Services.
  • Effectively logging and monitoring customers and identify areas for growth using full range of available reports from Power BI and CRM.
  • Working in harmony with the OEM’s to push new product ranges and become an expert in selling their new and key lines
  • Ensure objectives are achieved and a proactive plan is in place to achieve KPI’s

Skills we’d love you to have:

  • Previous sales experience with consistent success
  • Industry knowledge within the cleaning, hygiene, janitorial or catering sectors
  • Exposure to new business and onboarding new customers.
  • A strong track record of working to targets and exceeding goals
  • A growth mindset with some super transferable skills which will help us to build a platform for success.
  • A good understanding of various business planning techniques and experience of using these.
  • Good understanding of the end to end sales process including pricing, operations and how they relate to, and impact true profitability.
  • Understanding the functionality and benefits of web stores
  • Have excellent ability to confidently manage the VOW files and strong experience in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
