Summary
MOJ Content producer – Band C (IO)
The content producer role is focused on managing large volumes of accurate, creative and accessible content for the intranet, the primary communications channel in the MoJ.
Knowledge, skills and experience
This role requires the postholder to have an excellent track record in managing multiple stakeholders, often under pressure, and maintaining the intranet’s standards and integrity. The postholder must have had experience with Content Management Systems in the past, preferably Wordpress, and be confident in managing complex digital projects from start to finish. The role would suit someone who has familiarity with delivering intranet communications in a multi-agency setting, preferably with demonstratable experience in training other users and proofing complex materials for accuracy.
Contacts and communication
The role requires the postholder to Work with business representatives and communications colleagues on the planning and delivery of internal content that supports internal communications. This role will require the post holder leading on many aspects of the delivery of intranet content and independently make decisions and advise stakeholders with varying interests. This includes regularly advising the internal communications team on designing and delivering internal communications which can support the delivery of our internal campaigns. The postholder is also required to engage the wider business and assess demands to use the intranet to communicate their guidance and policies to the wider business, they will then consult with the wider communications team to advise on how best to deliver such demands. This will frequently involve having challenging conversations when the expectations of stakeholder needs are beyond the intranet standards. The postholder is also required to provide a leadership role across the other intranet users embedded in wider agency communication teams, providing guidance on best practice and ensuring that corporate standards are adhered to. There are high volumes of work in this role and the postholder will be expected to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise key work in partnership with colleagues in the internal communications team. To proactively manage the range of communication challenges the post holder will be required to off active strategic engagement to educate about standards and what we can offer and reactive communications to deal with live issues.
Problem Solving
The post holder will be required to constantly assess and decide the best approach to publishing content to departmental internal channels. The range of options will require a creative approach to dealing with a range of issues, working with stakeholders to decide Work with Content Designers to plan, manage and organise workflow, prioritising incoming requests for work in a busy, high-pressure environment. The postholder will also have to contribute to the review and development of robust editorial processes, policies and guidance and support colleagues with offering methods to increase viewership and engagement with content. There will be frequent occasions when events mean the intranet needs to be updated at pace to meet changing business needs, such as during COVID, this will require the postholder to exercise judgement and calmness, engaging colleagues to deliver intranet changes at pace whilst always considering the bigger picture and engaging relevant parties when required.
Autonomy
The postholder will be part of a small team of 2 responsible for all the MoJs central intranet content and be relied upon to make frequent high impact decisions independently. The line manager of this post works part time, so each week, the postholder will be the key and only contact within the MoJ Intranet team. Alongside this, the postholder will be required to publish items on a regular basis, which will be seen by large audiences with reputation risk if there and issues and this will need constant review of content for accuracy, style and quality across formats to ensure suitability for the channel before publishing. The postholder will be expected to be able to engage senior leaders in business groups, understand their needs and engage the internal communications team about how to best support their needs, offering advice on content and process where necessary – they will frequently be expected to attend meetings on behalf of the communications team to

This role is a key part of the MoJ Corporate Communications team, being responsible for ensuring the information staff need to their jobs is published in a timely, accurate and accessible way. The post holder will frequently need to independently act as representative of the high performing communications directorate, providing advice and delivering communications which support the delivery of the MoJ’s business objectives.
