Summary
The Military Support Manager is the focal point for all military personnel in DIO. This pivotal role will support senior military leaders and civilian reporting officers across the business. The successful candidate will be trained on the military HR system (JPA) providing annual appraising reports and updating changes as well as being engaged in promotion opportunities and delivering up to date and accurate reporting. This role will report into the HR Business Partner team who will support you in your own personal development.
This is an essential role in DIO that cements its commitment to providing key infrastructure services across defence by both Military and civilian personnel.
Key responsibilities and duties include;
managing and coordinating the annual appraisal reporting requirements of DIO military staff
acting as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
managing and assuring all annual reports for DIO military personnel and promoting excellence
carrying out all DIO Workforce Establishment administration using System for Liability Information Management (SLIM)
representative for three personnel centres: Portsmouth (Navy), Glasgow (Army), and High Wycombe (RAF) to coordinate and supporting with assignments of military personnel
coordinating the military boarding process for all positions in DIO, ensuring the correct prioritisation is given to all posts
providing assurance to the FTRS Board and assist with convening FTRS boards across DIO
coordinate all heads of departments to carry out digitisation of skill profiles and job descriptions
coordinate military specific returns as required eg Courts Martial trawls etc
through the Regimental Career Management Officer (RCMO) qualification, you will administrate JPA Career and maintain full access to the JPA Oracle system to assist with Management Information delivery
conducting assurance checks on all JPA access to Accommodation and working closely with other business areas and the JPAC team
updating departments within DIO of policy changes and engaging with business managers ensuring deadlines and returns are completed on time.
building performance reports for military personnel, ensuring all civil service reporting officers adhere to the qualifications and training matrix
supporting Whole Force Strategic Workforce planning by providing accurate data sets and insights to identify patterns and trends to support HR interventions
developing and producing monthly military data reports for internal stakeholders, using JPA live system; and other sources of information
providing data insights and highlighting any risks and issues where appropriate and proposing and subsequently implemented interventions to address
Support with mentoring civilian report writers ensuring they complete all reports as per current policy laid down on JSP 757
Trusted advisor for all grades providing welfare support and advising on processes and policy
Maintain the Sharepoint site and communicate updates as appropriate
