Summary
Seeking a CNC Operator to join our custom furniture production team. The ideal candidate will have experience with woodworking and CNC machinery will be an advantage, combining technical expertise with an appreciation for furniture craftsmanship.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Biesse machinery for wood cutting.
- Working with natural and engineered wood for machinery operations.
- Conduct quality checks on materials prior to CNC processing.
- Read and interpret furniture designs and technical drawings.
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and prevent wastage.
- Maintain quality standards for finished panels.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Maintain clean and organised work area.
- Monitor tool wear and replacement needs to ensure machines are in good working condition.
- Report technical machinery faults promptly to the Production Manager.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Reporting any health and safety issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery and systems.
- Ability to read paperwork and understand measurements.
- Proficient in using basic maths for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
- High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
- Can-do attitude with a focus on meeting deadlines and targets.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and moving wood panels and materials (up to 50 pound)
- Good eye-hand coordination.
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern:
Initial Training Period
- Monday to Friday
- 39 hours per week
- Early finish on Fridays
Post-Training Schedule
- 3-day working week
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
- Shift Allowance
- Excellent work-life balance with 6 days off every second week
- Shift patterns and specific days to be discussed during interview
