Summary

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive individual to join our Transactional Services team providing a shared service across both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils as Senior Administrative Officer focused on helpdesk and data processing.

The ideal candidate will be a process driven individual with a keen eye for detail who has experience working within transactional or payroll administrative roles. In the role you will undertake a range of daily activities relating to the position administration and hierarchy amendments required to ensure efficient and effective data processing within the councils financial application, Unit4.

Knowledge of the Unit4 application would be desirable as would experience in a similar system or of position and hierarchy management. The role also has key responsibilities in co-ordinating helpdesk activity; providing excellent technical support, customer service and advice to our colleagues who process a range of daily activities across Finance, HR and Payroll.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Co-ordinate frontline support through the helpdesk
Delivery of hierarchy and position management
Support defect resolution and service improvement
System development and testing
This role would suit someone with significant IT experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills and an ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way. A pro-active and positive attitude with the ability to manage pressure effectively within a fast-paced environment is key.

This is a hybrid post which means working in one of our modern ‘Hub’ style offices in locations across the borough as well as the opportunity to work from home where suitable. The benefits of working for the Council go well beyond making a difference to people’s lives; as well as working within a supportive environment with people who share your values you will have access to a range of benefits.

We are incredibly proud to be Investors in People ‘Silver’ status, which illustrates that we care about our people and are ambitious to do even more for them. We truly are an amazing place to work!

If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!
