Summary
Lochaber Women's Aid is a feminist organisation that adopts a feminist approach to understanding domestic abuse and working to end violence against women and children. We are looking to recruit a Specialist Domestic Abuse Worker to provide one-to one practical and emotional support to women who have experienced domestic abuse.
The successful applicant will have a good understanding of working with people who have experienced trauma, have experience in providing direct support and have excellent communication skills.
They should be able to help service users identify support needs, discuss solutions to meet these needs and advise of coping strategies to reduce trauma and anxiety issues.
Ongoing on the job training and mentoring will be given to gain understanding on the effect that living in an unhealthy relationship has on both women and children.
