Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Building Control Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and standards across a designated area. You will act as a key liaison between clients, contractors, and local authorities, providing expert guidance on all aspects of building control. Your intricate knowledge of building practices and legal requirements will be essential in assessing plans, conducting inspections, and offering advice on matters pertaining to safety, sustainability, and accessibility. As an Area Building Control Surveyor, you will contribute significantly to the development of high-quality structures while safeguarding the health and safety of the community. Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of building projects to ensure compliance with building regulations and safety standards.
Review and assess building plans and specifications submitted for approval.
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients and local authorities on building control matters.
Prepare detailed reports on inspections and consultative meetings for record-keeping and regulatory purposes.
Evaluate and process applications for building permits and certificates of compliance.
Investigate complaints and reports of building regulation violations and take appropriate action.
Liaise with architects, contractors, and developers to facilitate successful project completion.
Requirements
Hold a relevant degree in Building Surveying, Architecture, or a related field.
Possess a thorough understanding of building regulations, codes, and standards.
Demonstrate experience in building control surveying or related fields, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
Exhibit strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and technical documents.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with various stakeholders.
Maintain a strong sense of integrity and professionalism at all times.
Have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel within the designated area.
