Hours: 32.5 hrs per week, 39 weeks per annum, Term times only
Start Date: 28th April 2025
Coed Glas Primary school requires an excellent, experienced, kind and caring HLTA to work with pupils with Additional Learning Needs in our SRB for children with social communication difficulties and Autism. Our base opened in September 2024.
The pupils are looking for an energetic, caring adult who can support them in developing their social skills, with their learning in the SRB and in the classroom, and to help and encourage them when managing their emotions. This post would suit a flexible, trained adult who shows patience and understanding, and who has successful experience across the primary age and in particular, experience supporting children with Autism.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering high quality support to children with ALN, particularly children with social communication difficulties and Autism. They will have experience of covering for teachers for PPA or absences.
Being a team player and an excellent communicator is vital in this role. Applicants should be able to manage resourcing and keeping records as well as having a creative flair to engage children.
Coed Glas Primary prides itself on developing the whole child and putting wellbeing at the centre of school life. We take a PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and Restorative Justice approach to supporting children and the successful candidate will show an understanding and willingness to work within our school philosophy.
Coed Glas Primary School is committed to safeguarding our children, staff and families. Applicants will be subject to Safer Recruitment Practises and successful applicants will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check.
We would welcome visits from interested candidates - please contact the school office to arrange a suitable time.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
