Summary

We are looking for an experienced welder / fabricator to join our maintenance team as we embark on a substantial campaign of harbour infrastructure upgrades. Your main role will be to perform welding and fabrication on the Harbour infrastructure such as pontoons, either on site or in a workshop setting. From time to time you will be called upon to help the wider maintenance team with larger jobs in and around the Harbour.

Main Duties

Metal fabrication activities to repair and/or strengthen Port and Harbour Infrastructure including, but not limited to;

Pontoon structures
Pontoon pile guides,
Railings and gates,
Access ramps and bridges




Input into the design and fabrication of bespoke / custom made projects for the Harbour requiring structural welding.

Assisting the wider maintenance team during the execution of larger maintenance and installation undertakings, such as cable pulling, pontoon re-positioning etc.

Undertaking general maintenance as instructed where considered competent.

Participation in the health and safety culture and contribution to method statements and risk assessments (RAMS) for maintenance tasks.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a welding qualification, and have demonstrable structural fabrication experience in a marine or industrial setting. A general knowledge of fitting and an ability to contribute to design development is desirable.

General experience in a marine setting and the ability to operate equipment such as fork-lifts and mobile hoists are preferable.

This post requires you to have a full driving license.
