Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, responsible and motivated Caretaker. This is a key role in maintaining the school site to ensure a welcoming, attractive, safe and secure school environment for the whole school community.
Duties will include:
• Lock/unlock school buildings and areas including setting the security alarm.
• Undertake/assist with the receipt, distribution, collection and dispatch of goods.
• Undertake/assist with repairs.
• Undertake activities to maintain a safe and clean internal and external environment.
• Undertake regular site checks including routine maintenance and health and safety checks
• Keep a clean and hygienic school environment that meets specified cleaning standards by undertaking cleaning duties.
• Supervise the cleaners in their cleaning duties.
• Undertake regular stock checks of cleaning products and washroom items, completing a requisition form for items that need to be replaced for the school business manager to be able to place appropriate orders.
• Record tasks and reports on the EVERY system (training will be provided).
• Other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as directed by the Headteacher.
We are looking for someone who has the skills to ensure the security and safety of the school premises and grounds. The successful candidate will be able to use their own initiative and manage their own workload, whilst being flexible to meet the schools needs. The successful candidate will be able to carry out a range of small repairs and advise when large repairs are needed.
