We are looking for a non-judgemental, fully trained band 6 Specialist Nurse to join our Integrated Sexual Health Service on a 1 year fixed term Maternity cover.

The band 6 nurse within sexual health services will work in a busy integrated sexual health environment, within a multidisciplinary team. The staffing structure is designed to support the delivery of core services at a variety of locations throughout Derbyshire and Derby City to improve sexual health outcomes for the population.

The right fit for this role will assess, plan and deliver all aspects of sexual health care and will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to undertake duties concurrent with this level of seniority from the list below in line with Faculty of Sexual Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH), British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) and NICE guidance:

Promotion/issuing of all methods of contraception for example the fitting of long acting reversible contraception (IUD/S and SDI). Fit and and removal of IUD/S and SDI.

Screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)

Perform diagnostic procedures and provide treatment and management of STIs

Health Advising/Partner Notification and Result Management

cervical cytology

microscopy

cryotherapy

Agreement in relation to which requirements apply will be reached individually.

The post holder will also be responsible for the day to day aspects of supervision and leading the shift.

To provide consistent high quality sexual health and contraception care to the people of Derby and the surrounding area.

Working in accordance with BASHH and FSRH guidance. You are expected to work autonomously and as part of a team in a non-judgement manner.
