Summary

You will be working in a busy claims team where you will investigate, research, make accurate calculations and reach conclusions on individual cases. You will speak and correspond with customers, employers, doctors and other third parties. You will also perform other general administration duties and other duties commensurate with the post.

Key responsibilities:
• Handling of claims and related queries.
• Provide suitable advice with regards to claims and treat customers fairly at all times having assessed their specific enquiry/query.
• Complete all administration and paperwork in accordance with the company procedure and service standards in line with claims protocol.
• Handling and responding to queries from clients and other third parties quickly, efficiently and accurately.
• Be diplomatic and empathetic in your approach but also have the assertiveness to contest decisions and resolve situations to the mutual satisfaction of all parties concerned.
• Building up detailed knowledge about the company’s products.
• Understanding and maintaining a good working knowledge of the rules and compliance procedures of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
• Ensure that you conduct yourself in accordance with the FCA rules and guidelines as issued by the company.
Experience/skills required:
• You will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent keyboard skills.
• Attention to detail, committed, thorough and accurate worker.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
• Experience of Microsoft Outlook and use of Internet search engines.
• GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
• Previous claims or insurance background would be beneficial but this is not essential.

Training will be provided in line with relevant products, departmental procedures and regulatory requirements.
