Key Requirements:
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide variety of individuals from various disciplines and organisations, both verbally and in writing.
Proven ability to set and meet deadlines, targets, and objectives in accordance with corporate and legal priorities.
Practical working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with administrative tasks within a financial ledger system is desirable.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to redact information appropriately for disclosure.
Experience in administrative tasks within an insurance and claims setting is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, displaying a responsible and co-operative attitude.
The council’s insurance team is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to provide temporary administrative support in the handling of insurance claims. This role is integral to ensuring the council maintains adequate insurance arrangements, provides timely advice on insurance matters, and manages claims efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately enter and maintain comprehensive records of insurance claims on the Council’s claims database system.
Assist in the registration and processing of insurance claims in line with corporate guidelines and legal requirements.
Support in registering claims with external agencies, including the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Compensation Recovery Unit (CRU).
Liaise with the Claims Team, Claims Litigation section, and other stakeholders on claims-related issues as directed.
Assist in responding to queries from officers, external organizations, and the public regarding claims matters.
Raise accurate and timely payments within the Council’s Financial Management System (FMS) and assist in other financial tasks as required.
Provide regular progress reports to the Deputy Insurance Manager, highlighting significant issues and developments.
Perform all duties in accordance with Council policies, codes of practice, Financial Regulations, and Information Governance requirements.
