Summary

Quality Engineer, Birmingham, £Negotiable

This client is a design and manufacturing company, producing a variety of products made from differing materials and finishes.

They are actively looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to improve their quality control. Ideally you will have a thorough understanding of manufacturing and finishing products.

The role will include:

• Investigating and logging quality concerns whether they are raised internally or by customers.
• Overseeing correction of quality issues by working with our engineering, design, and production teams, as well as suppliers.
• Suggesting product improvements to overcome quality issues, which may include assembly jigs or gauges.
• Forming healthy working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors using regular communication and visits.
• Inspecting scrap from each production unit to identify trends and mitigate further issues.
• Educating factory operatives on expected standards for current and new products.
• Cost analysis on all quality complaints to realise commercial value of correction or impact of factory operative mistake/negligence.
• Reviewing operating procedures and updating where necessary to improve efficiency.

• It is important that you have the ability to work autonomously and are comfortable communicating with people at every level of a business.

Working hours will be 0745-1645 Monday to Thursday (lunch break 1245-1315), and Friday 0745-1245.

Holiday entitlement is 25 days + bank holidays
