Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for you to work in the Estate Maintenance team as Facility Coordinator.

Salary: £14.46 / hours

Benefit: On-Site-Parking

Location: Southampton

Contract Length: 3 Months

Working hours/ Shifts pattern: Monday Thursday 7:30 am to 4:15 pm - Friday 7:30 am to 3:15 pm

The role: To effectively deliver a high standard service in a customer-focused contact centre environment ensuring that day to day property repairs and maintenance services; void property redecoration, associated planned maintenance/improvement works and/or are initiated, processed and completed in a timely manner. To work in the Estate Maintenance planning team to allocate work to trade staff and ensure that materials are available by liaising closely with the Materials Hub Team.

Your keys responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective deployment of resources in line with the client regulations, budgets, and standards to deliver high-quality maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage public and internal interactions professionally across various channels, ensuring efficient and empathetic service.
  • Perform key admin tasks, including database updates, invoicing, scheduling, and document management to maintain smooth operations.
  • Liaise with tradespeople, contractors, and suppliers to schedule and manage repairs, scaffold orders, asbestos removal, and other works.
  • Oversee work orders, track costs, handle recovery charges, and contribute to improving service efficiency.
  • Assist in quality control, policy implementation, and performance monitoring to enhance service delivery.

Essentials skills:

  • NVQ 2 or a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience
  • Have a practical understanding of the construction / property maintenance industry, general repairs and void property management, asbestos, scaffolding and damp reduction.
  • Experience of providing a customer-based service with excellent knowledge of social housing, an understanding of public sector issues/sensitivities and an understanding of the deployment of resources within a complex
  • To have excellent level of IT literacy Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, allocating work to a geographically dispersed, multi-faceted team, acting on own initiative, making decisions and resolving problems.

Desirable skills:

  • Use Agresso and Total to initiate orders and make payments to the value of approximately £700k per annum.
  • To be able to use self-service, digital user platforms and applications, MS Office, Dynamic Resource Scheduling, Total Mobile and Agresso systems.
