This is an exciting time for the University, and we are now looking to appoint a Business Applications and Systems Development Manager to support our digital transformation plans 2025-2030.

This is a key appointment for the University, reporting to the Director of Information Services. The Business Applications and Systems Development Manager plays a pivotal lead role in overseeing the design, implementation, management, and optimisation of business-critical applications and systems. Working closely with the Infrastructure and Cyber security manager, the role involves ensuring that the university’s business systems effectively and securely support and improve business operations and efficiency and align with the departments’ and organisation’s strategic goals. The Business Applications and Systems Development Manager will collaborate with various departments and cross-functional teams to develop and manage strategies for the further development and exploitation of systems within their remit to ensure alignment with the organisation’s current and future needs.

In addition, we are seeking a person who can effectively lead and mentor a team of technical people to develop, embed and drive forward our digital transformation plans, driving continuous improvement and deliver high quality data and business solutions.

To be successful in the role you will be an established technical business systems professional, conversant with a variety of programming languages, report writers, system utilities and operating system tools. You will also need to have the ability to analyse the operating and business needs of our Professional Service & Academic departments and apply systems analysis and design methodologies to problem solving.
