Summary
Nexus is looking to appoint a Project Manager Apprentice within the Renewals department.
As part of this 4.5-year apprentice programme, you’ll play a central role in some key renewal projects across the Tyne and Wear Metro and other Nexus services. This will involve working on a diverse range of rail & infrastructure projects throughout different stages of their lifecycle: from engaging with key stakeholders at option selection, through to reporting during construction, hand back and project close-out. We’re looking for an individual who enjoys a challenge, who thrives in a team environment and who can prioritise tasks in order to work to deadlines.
You will work towards a BA/BSc in Project Management and develop highly transferrable planning, leadership and communication skills with on-the-job learning under the guidance of project professionals making this a fantastic opportunity. Whilst precise details are to be confirmed, it is expected that successful candidate will study on day release to university whilst working the remaining working days gaining practical hands-on experience in a demanding project management environment. As part of the study arrangements for this role, travel may be required outside of the local Tyne and Wear area, and Nexus will fund and support the successful candidate regarding travel arrangements. The role is predominantly office and site-based to maximise the learning opportunities.
The final 6 months of apprenticeship will consist of completing an End Point Assessment (EPA), successful completion of this will result in awarding of a certificate of completion.
