Summary

The Deputy Director of Service Strategy and Transformation is pivotal in the creation of the Service Transformation Strategy for MoJ and its agencies.

The Deputy Director of this area will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for end-to-end service transformation of frontline and public facing digital services, as well as developing the future operating model to deliver it.

They will undertake this work, whilst simultaneously leading teams to deliver multiple digital products that help tackle some of Justice’s most critical problems.

The Deputy Director will work with senior leaders across MoJ and its agencies to ensure that the organisation is fully positioned to capture technological and operational opportunities for improvement. They will have frequent ministerial and Permanent Secretary engagement and will need to be comfortable and experienced operating at this level.

Responsibilities

As Deputy Director, Service Strategy and Transformation, you will:
• Set the strategic direction for MoJ’s service transformation, working with senior leaders across the MoJ and its agencies, to ensure the organisation is positioned to fully capture technological and operational opportunities for improvement;
• Develop the future operating model for service delivery, including how MoJ will monitor, govern, and improve its digital services using single service ownership and novel approaches that ensure continuous improvement;
• Develop successful, robust business cases for service transformation, based on business needs, digital capabilities and strategic drivers, ahead of executing these initiatives;
• Oversee day to day execution of the transformation roadmap and support the resolution of issues;
• Convene transformation colleagues across the MOJ and its agencies to develop and deliver cross-cutting initiatives; and
• Lead an incubator for high priority digital projects.
