We are recruiting for an Innovation and Growth Funding Specialist to join our team!

THE ROLE
This role is a key part of delivering Innovate UK Business Growth strategic funding and finance support to SMEs, supporting some of the most ambitious, innovative SMEs in the South West to grow and scale by focussing on increasing their ability and readiness to raise non-dilutive funding.

The role will require the applicant to work closely with the Funding and Finance team, alongside independently supporting clients. This role will be wide-ranging and suitable for an experienced, flexible, committed, and ambitious individual.

This role will involve delivering specialist grant funding support to clients through 1-2-1 bespoke engagements. Typically, this might include evaluating the current financial situation of a company, identification and exploration of suitable funding options, researching and signposting the client to funding sources, critiquing draft grant funding applications, and delivery of impactful in-depth wrap-around support.

This role is suitable for an applicant with strong experience of the national and international grant funding landscape relevant to early/growth stage commercial innovative businesses.

Working across the various Innovate UK funded and delivered support services and the Innovate UK Business Growth services portfolio, the Specialist will provide integrated support to targeted businesses.


ABOUT YOU / ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• A senior professional having grown their own business and/or worked in a senior
position in a corporate or ambitious SME environment
• Experience of implementing grant funding strategies
• Experience / understanding of non-dilutive funders in the UK and International
• Good awareness of the benefit of the use of debt, equity, grants and of
leveraging multiple support schemes, such Patent Box, R&D tax credits, invoice
finance, financial guarantees, etc.
• Self-motivated and results driven with a meticulous focus on quality
