Summary
Job Description – Grading Team Member
We are a family-run mixed farming business which specialises in the production of seed potatoes.
Role Details:
Reports to: Keith Summers, Director
Location: Dollings Farm, Nr Taunton, Somerset
The usual place of work will be at Dollings Farm, but there may be occasions where you are required to perform duties at other buildings or land rented for the growing and harvesting of our crops.
£11.44 p/h for a 45-hour week, but weekend and evening work will be required depending upon market demands for which overtime will be paid.
Employment status: fixed term (February – July)
Main Purpose
• To work as part of the grading and yard team to ensure that the seed potato products meet the required specification and standards of plant health for customer orders as well as our own input stock.
Main Duties
• Working on the potato grader and removing any product that does not fit the specification, ensuring a high-quality product reaches the customer.
• Working the floor beside the grader to run the bag filler equipment, level the produce within the boxes and achieve the desired weight.
• Assist with bagging and preparing orders for customer collection.
• Assist with maintenance tasks on the grader and associated equipment to ensure the smooth operation of the machines.
• To follow instructions relating to Health and Safety and Fresh Produce.
• To follow instruction from Yard Team members, working at pace and as part of a high performing team.
• Undertake housekeeping tasks to help maintain a tidy and safe work environment.
• You may also be required to undertake additional duties from time to time as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
