Summary

A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fellow appointment (10 PAs) to work in the Ultrasound Screening Unit and enhance the Obstetric Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine services. The post-holder will perform routine obstetric ultrasound examinations and will be responsible for providing one-to-one hands-on ultrasound training for training sonographers enrolled on our MSc in Obstetric Ultrasound and Fetal Medicine. The aim for junior fellows of such programme is to acquire competences in performing routine 11-14 weeks, anomaly scan and fetal well-being by the end of the first year. The Senior Fellow will significantly contribute in training and teaching junior fellows in achieving this goal, thus, the applicant needs to be experienced in routine screening obstetric ultrasound and be able to perform independently 11-14 weeks nuchal screening, anomaly scan and fetal well-being scans.
Senior fellows are fundamental clinicians in the Obstetric Ultrasound Unit. Your time will predominantly be spent advancing your own obstetric ultrasounds skills and assisting in the teaching of the trainee sonographers. We aim to provide half a day per week of special interest, tailored to the individual’s experience and requirement which includes sessions in the Fetal Medicine Unit. Further opportunities for training and professional development will be available in Maternal Fetal Assessment, Antenatal Clinic, and Labour Ward. The aim of the special interest session is to develop the individual and support their career progress. As part of our team you will gain invaluable clinical, teaching and management skills that will benefit you throughout your career.
