Gotham Newcastle is located in the Old Fire Station which was originally built in 1931–1933 based on designs by Cackett, Burns Dick and Mackellar. Baroque Revival in style, a handsome steel framed building with rusticated Portland stone and brick cladding.
The restaurant is a stylish destination in its own right, Gotham’s Newcastle restaurant mixes turn of the century elegance with a moody undertone. Invoking the building’s history, a palette of period inspired, quirky details ensure a welcoming space where guests can expect plush surroundings, accompanied by an enticing, contemporary menu, with ingredients sourced from the finest local producers.
As our Breakfast Supervisor you will take care of the stage for a sumptuous hotel experience offering opulence and luxury. Give our guests the amazing VIP treatment from when the curtain lifts on entry to the hotel. You must be fully flexible working 5 over 7 days and a variety of daytime or evening shifts.
You’ll join a friendly, talented and dedicated cast who deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have superb personal presentation and terrific team spirit. We're looking for fabulous communication skills, superb organisation and attention to detail along with a strong ethos for team work. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Greet all guests as they come into the Grill, offering and serving tea, coffee and toast before taking their breakfast order.
- Carry out the role of a section waiter/waitress, providing table service, taking guest orders and running large trays of delicious food to guest tables.
- Support management in supervising and providing direction to our breakfast waiting team, ensuring the highest standards of service provision at all times.
- Implement training plans and deliver on-the-job training to drive the smoothest, most polished levels of service.
- Have a hands-on approach to service and hosting, driving standards at all times. Run shifts where you are the most senior in charge, carrying out the opening and closing tasks for the service.
- To have a comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage menu options to be able to offer guests recommendations, including understanding the allergens present.
- Achieve the highest level possible of guest satisfaction within the restaurant department but actively involved in all others and promote this within their team
