An exciting opportunity has become available to lead Children’s Platform Enablement Team. The team underpin all of the teams within Children, developing and maintaining shared critical cloud infrastructure whilst safeguarding the stability of Live Service.

The Child Maintenance Service aim is to improve children’s lives through the provision of effective child maintenance arrangements. In Children Digital, we help run and maintain products and services that improve the outcomes for children, by enabling parents to put in place and manage sustainable child maintenance arrangements in an efficient and convenient way.

We are undertaking an ambitious modernisation programme to help shape our digital services for the future, enabling the customers to self-serve more easily and the Platform Enablement team are at the heart of what we do.

The team effectively underpin all of Children Digitals ambitions via the creation and maintenance of a stable, well-defined framework for all teams across Children to utilise when developing and building services that support Child Maintenance, securing money for children. We develop shared components and functionalities that support teams across Children deliver their critical online services to clients and customers ensuring they are efficient and maintained.

You will be responsible for setting the clear leadership, vision and strategy for the team and in support of the Practice, ensuring processes are owned and matured. You will also:

  • Lead a team ensuring adequate resources and capacity deliver valued outcomes to the Business.
  • Represent IT Service Management at a senior level and act as an escalation point for Business stakeholders.
  • You will support various project teams ('tribes') involved in their transition towards achieving the goals of DWP Digital's Strategic Reference Architecture /*StartFragment */The strategic architecture behind our Digital Future – DWP Digital /*EndFragment */.
  • Lead on decommissioning, through the adoption of new strategic technologies; deploying and aligning the use of improved more robust pipelines.
  • You will be responsible for collaborating with Digital, Business and external stakeholders to ensure service support is delivered to agreed performance targets in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure safe integration of Changes into live, minimising disruption to IT services and creating a positive customer experience.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a quality end-to-end service performance and availability that supports and enables Digital to successfully achieve objectives that meet Business outcomes.
  • Accountable for ensuring appropriate input to analysis and resolution of Major Incidents for Products/Services in portfolio. Providing input to technical and business calls, reviewing and validating Post Incident Reviews and Reports.
  • Ensure focus on Continual Improvement opportunities, driving their delivery that, support Business outcomes, and optimise value.
  • Lead and promote a culture of continuous learning and development for your immediate teams and sub-teams where colleagues are inspired and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
  • Lead the effective optimisation of ongoing service costs working in collaboration with stakeholders including Finance, Commercials and Delivery teams.
