Summary

Are you excited by a unique opportunity to help drive forward Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM) ambitious agenda, to support the delivery of a sustainable, healthy and efficient transport network through our work in delivering the ambitions set out in the Greater Manchester Transport Strategy 2040?

The transport challenges that city regions like Greater Manchester (GM) face are significant, we need to: support further economic renewal, including integrating transport with growth and development plans particularly in our Growth Locations; promote travel change in the interests of driving down the environmental impact of travel; and ensure an equitable and accessible transport system that provides excellent connectivity for all of our communities.


Your Role


In this role you will be leading a programme of work that will help us to answer some of the big questions we are currently facing in GM, such as:

  1. How should transport infrastructure support economic growth and the delivery of new homes and jobs, while meeting health and carbon objectives in Greater Manchester?
  1. How do we develop long-term transport strategies and delivery pipelines for the City Region that deliver our Right Mix and carbon objectives?
  2. How do we enable delivery of a capital programme, turning strategy into transformative outcomes for residents of the City Region?

This role will include:

  • Leading studies that support integrated transport and land use planning that identify critical and essential transport infrastructure across the City Region;
  • Leading the development of a pipeline of transport investment across the City Region;
  • Supporting a programme of early development work and key infrastructure development projects that will form part of our next LTP and Transport Delivery Plan;
  • Developing strong relationships with key partners, including local authorities, Government Departments, national transport agencies, and with key national policy development network; and,
  • Supporting the development of local transport policies, strategies and design guidance.

  • A salary of £56,361 to £63,438 per annum depending on skills and experience
