Summary
P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking a Proposal Engineer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis in Great Yarmouth.
Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all enquiries relating to equipment mostly used in process and pipeline operations, including development of scope, quotations and technical communication with customers.
• Assist with co-ordinating various aspects of engineering, including design, planning/development, and preparation of cost estimates for the company’s packages.
• Develop system designs, P&ID, and GA drawings with team members.
• Responsible for the development of design, materials handling, manpower requirements, cost analysis and other areas as appropriate.
• Produce technical and commercial proposals for conceptual, budget, and firm opportunities.
• Provide engineering support and technical solutions.
• Review and interpretation of project specifications, standards, regulations, and requirements.
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers, reviewing quotations, and developing good working relationships with suppliers’ technical and commercial teams.
• Obtaining technical input from internal discipline engineers to ensure bids meet clients’ specifications and standards.
• Interfacing and developing relationships with clients and their contractors during the bid development stages.
• Some attendance at meetings may also be required from time to time.
Person Specification:
• A proactive, ambitious candidate with a can-do attitude and passion for design engineering.
• Excellent communication skills, including a good standard of both written and spoken English.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint, Teams).
• Capability to work well within a team, under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
Qualifications and Experience:
• You will ideally hold an HND or equivalent in Engineering, however equivalent experience in a similar field/proven track record will be considered.
• Previous experience of compiling cost estimates for mechanical packages.
• A formal Project Management qualification (desirable).
• Experience with the design of oil and gas industrial field equipment (Nitrogen Pumps, Fluid Pumps) (desirable).
• Solid Works/CAD design (desirable).
• A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role (desirable).
• Knowledge of equipment manufacture compliance and legislation, DNV offshore certification requirements, ATEX / Hazardous Area equipment compliance (desirable).
