Summary
The Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit consists of 31 purpose built beds combining both level 3 and level 2 care for cardiothoracic patients. The Unit is the North West Centre for Cardiopulmonary Transplantation. This includes the development of a VAD programme ,an established VV ECMO respiratory service and as part of our heart failure service we are also able to provide VA ECMO.
As a team we are committed to delivering the highest standards of care . We encourage and support staff development with the employment of full time Practice Based Educators.
The Cardio-thoracic Critical Care unit is currently in a position to appoint to a substantive band 6 Ecmo Co-Ordinator post. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated individual to support our large nursing team. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to lead a team of nurses, support the management of the unit, support staff within the challenging critical care environment and have knowledge of the current multi-faceted NHS.
The candidate must be an experienced ECMO specialist nurse. They must have experience within the cardio-thoracic critical care speciality, teaching qualification, education to diploma level, evidence of level 3 studies - including the Critical Care Course , and evidence of personnel development.
