About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving the strategy for a high-profile contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead commercial operations, foster strong relationships with clients, and drive growth while managing key operational functions across multiple sites throughout the North West, North Wales, and Midlands regions.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing contracts, forecasting sales, mitigating risks, and identifying new business opportunities. You will work closely with the operations managers, primarily focused on established long standing contracts initially, and later expanding the role to encompass new business development with existing and new clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of sales strategies, ensuring profitable growth, managing budgets, forecasting sales, and overseeing financial performance across multiple locations.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure smooth service delivery, compliance, and contract management, while identifying and mitigating contract risks.
  • Identify new business opportunities, secure future contracts, and build strong relationships with clients through regular site visits to ensure satisfaction and long-term success.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to align with business objectives, monitor performance, and oversee the tendering process to ensure high-quality and competitive submissions.

Requirements

  • Strong background in contract management, operations oversight, and driving profitability within a multi-site environment, ideally within the grounds maintenance, landscaping, FM, waste management, or service industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecast sales, and optimise financial performance, with a focus on achieving growth and cost control.
  • Experience in identifying and capitalising on business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, align operations with business goals, and effectively manage the tendering and quoting processes.
