Description
The Supervised Contact Worker (BR6) plays a crucial role in facilitating safe and positive interactions between children and their families in a supportive environment. As a Supervised Contact Worker, you will be responsible for overseeing contact sessions, ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of children during visits, and providing a safe space for families to reconnect. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including social services, parents, and children, to create a constructive environment that fosters healing and growth. The role requires maintaining accurate records of visits, providing feedback, and identifying any concerns that may impact the well-being of children. Responsibilities
Facilitate and oversee supervised contact sessions between children and their families.
Ensure the safety and well-being of children during visits by maintaining a supportive environment.
Record and document all contact sessions accurately and consistently for reporting purposes.
Provide guidance and support to families during interactions to promote positive engagement.
Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and professionals involved in the child's welfare.
Identify and report any concerns observed during sessions regarding the child's safety or emotional well-being.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with children and families in a social services or community setting.
Strong understanding of child development and family dynamics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse populations.
Ability to remain calm and professional in potentially challenging situations.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation.
Commitment to upholding and promoting the values and policies of child welfare and safeguarding.
