Summary

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Lead Inclusion Tutor to join our fantastic school. The Lead Inclusion Tutor position is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in helping small groups of students access and excel in our mainstream curriculum. Responsible To: Inclusion Director - Natalie James Responsible For: Delivery and monitoring of The Hive-based interventions across both Key Stages and their outcomes. Occupational Standards: Where appropriate, the applicant should be willing to seek HLTA Standards or Equivalent (the school will support the postholder in gaining their HLTAqualification). The applicant will also be willing to undergo OSCA training through Pearson Edexcel to enable them to verify and assess internal Functional Skills assessments. Main Duties & Responsibilities: • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom. • To deliver intervention programmes at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with The Hive intervention curriculum. • To assist in the creation and maintenance of intervention resources, and creation of visual displays in order to ensure a relevant physical learning environment. To monitor student outcomes and reflect on programmes’ effectiveness to ensure that The Hive is fulfilling its purpose of encouraging success for all students. • To undertake all administrative and general support duties relevant to the role. • Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required on student achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence. Be available for selected parents’ evenings / induction evenings where required. • Having regard to equality of opportunity, to provide care and encouragement to all students, planning for and supporting their participation in activities and liaising, if required, with parents / carers / other professionals as appropriate. • To oversee the budget for The Hive intervention classroom, to ensure that it is fully resourced to meet students’ learning needs. • To liaise with the Inclusion Director in the creation of new intervention cohorts across both Key Stages each term. • To monitor and oversee the delivery and outcomes of the Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills courses at Key Stage 4, engaging in relevant training from the exam board. • To engage with the whole-school CPD offer and other relevant opportunities to ensure that best practice is being followed to allow for maximum impact through the intervention programmes. • Encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities. • To promote positive behaviour and relationships, using effective strategies in a timely manner in accordance with school policy. • To develop positive relationships with colleagues, providing consistent and effective support and working constructively as a member of the school staff team. • To effectively manage instances of poor behaviour and any other immediate issues or emergencies that arise in accordance with school policy. • When not required to undertake any responsibility falling within the above, the Postholder may be directed to provide additional support in the school, in accordance with the duties of other similarly or lower graded jobs for which they are suitably skilled/ qualified. • The postholder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.
