The Leicestershire Registration Service is looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our ceremony team which helps people celebrate some of life's most important milestones.

About the Role

Leicestershire Registration Service registers births, deaths and marriages, along with other services such as Citizenship ceremonies, for the people of Leicestershire. We have seven offices across the county, with our administrative base being Anstey Frith House in Glenfield.

We perform over two and a half thousand civil ceremonies a year in six offices and over 60 Approved Venues, and you will be integral in the organisation and preparation of these ceremonies.

This rewarding, varied role includes taking bookings over the phone, chasing payments and paperwork as well as performing both roles at civil marriages and civil partnerships. Comprehensive training will be provided.

There is an opportunity to be added to our ceremony staffing rota throughout the year, with the potential of earning overtime.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Experience in an administrative role - in particular, a role where customer service was a main responsibility.
  • Experience of working in a role where there are large amounts of regulation and legislative procedures.
  • Be computer literate – especially a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Possess excellent communication skills – especially be able to present as authoritative and knowledgeable.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy skills – both verbal and written
  • Experience of time management – dealing with conflicting priorities etc.

You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
