Summary

A world leader in seismic instrumentation, providing solutions globally for a range of research and industrial applications.
Our instrumentation and software are used in global research, earthquake early warning systems, monitoring of seismic and volcanic activity, the energy and the security sectors. They can be deployed on the land, down boreholes and in the ocean.
The business, which employs 80 people, is based in Aldermaston, Berkshire, UK and will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in the next few years.
The company is engaged in a wide variety of engineering disciplines ranging from intricate mechanical design challenges requiring micron level accuracy to large scale mechanical systems, electronics and software.
We are currently seeking a Product Specialist / Technical Sales Engineer with a strong engineering background to join the commercial team and to help grow our business. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and will be responsible for bridging the knowledge gap between the commercial and engineering teams, whilst working with the customer support team.
Responsibilities:
· Product specialist, taking the lead on being the go-to person for a range of products, undertaking;
· Technical product demonstrations with both hardware and software to international distributors and customers, either in person or virtually
· Generation and delivery of PowerPoint presentations, customer proposals and bids/tenders’ responses.
· Internally being a product expert and providing market feedback
· ‘Hand hold’ certain customers once they have received their orders, including helping to configure and setup systems
· Build and develop relationships with international exclusive distributors and key customers
· Provide technical support to customers by understanding their needs and providing solutions
· Collaborate with the engineering/customer service team to provide best in class product training, writing technical manuals and guides for end users. Collaborate with the marketing team to create marketing materials and sales collateral
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
· Proven track record in technical sales/product engineering role within commercial/design manufacturing
· Product demonstration, technical support, technical sales
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to adjust the language to the level of expertise and interest of the audience
· Strong engineering and problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
· Ability to work both in a team and independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required – mainly office based
· Someone with a Physics/Maths and electronic background
· Experience with Windows and Linux a plus
