Job Purpose:

To provide monitoring and referral services for students’ absence and punctuality to support the overall college to improve attendance so that students achieve and progress.


Key Responsibilities

1. Monitor daily student attendance and contact students and parents (16-18) to ascertain reasons for non-attendance reporting via Ontrack to Personal Tutors

2. Support monitoring attendance of apprentices, reporting absence to employers

3. To act as a point of contact for reporting absence and recording planned holidays

4. Telephone, text, email and write letters to students who are absent without informing college

5. Report absences on Ontrack with reasons and actions as appropriate

6. Facilitate the absence line and report to teachers and managers via Ontrack

7. Send texts to students around exam times reminding them of times of exams

8. Work as part of the Attendance monitoring team contributing to the whole team effort to monitor, report and record on attendance and punctuality

9. Support the team so the overall team KPIs are achieved

10. Liaise with teachers and managers about students that fall below 90% attendance sending texts, calling, sending letters or emails to students and parents (16-18)

11. Respond quickly and efficiently to tutor requests to follow up on students who are late or absent using the most appropriate media

12. Respond to student requests for support by referring to the most appropriate service

13. Follow procedures for attendance and punctuality as determined by the policy

14. Follow plan of work for the year as provided by line manager

15. Find solutions to standard issues that arise, escalating problems to management

16. Make referrals as necessary to internal and external support services available

Other Duties and Responsibilities
