Salary: £32,115 per annum The Headteacher & Governors of New Moston Primary School are looking to appoint
an Attendance Officer to join our team The role will involve:
  • Working within a wider pastoral team, working to eliminate and
    reduce barriers for children to be able to achieve their full potential.
  • Direct responsibility for the School’s Attendance and Punctuality Strategy and operations as well as wider responsibilities as part of the Pastoral Team.
  • Conducting home visits to some of our families which will require the
    candidate to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business
    purposes.
  • Experience of working with children, families and external agencies is
    crucial for this role.

The successful applicant will be familiar with attendance tracking, monitoring and
planning, ensuring that the school is taking proactive steps to increase whole school
attendance whilst reducing the school’s persistent absence rates.
The core purpose of this role will be to support the pastoral team through:
  • Raising whole school attendance
  • Leading Early Helps for targeted families
  • Supporting the implementation of the safeguarding policy throughout school.
  • Being proactive in reaching out to families to support pupil attendance.
  • Having high standards of professionalism and conduct.
  • Bringing experience of strategies and initiatives that lead to positive outcomes.
  • Liaising well with a range of colleagues, including the pastoral team, senior leadership team and teaching team.
  • Reporting accurate data to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, Pastoral Team and Governors.
  • Supporting in other areas of pastoral support where applicable.
  • Being part of a wider team, ensuring that there is accountability and rigour for specific areas of responsibility whilst supporting the wider pastoral function.
  • Acting as a DDSL as part of the safeguarding team and following all safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety of children is paramount.
