Job Opportunity: Young Person Support Worker
Location: Kent
Salary: £27,285 per annum
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5pm, plus on-call rota)

We are looking for a dedicated Young Person Support Worker to join our team, supporting young individuals, including unaccompanied asylum seekers, as they transition to independence and adulthood. Your role will be pivotal in empowering young people to develop essential life skills, offering the guidance and care needed to help them thrive.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a committed team focused on providing specialised support and care. Reporting to the Support Team Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting young people living independently, assisting with daily routines and building their independent living skills.
  • Encouraging positive choices related to social engagement, education, and budgeting.
  • Developing and updating individualised care plans and working collaboratively with social services to provide tailored support.
  • Ensuring all interactions are respectful, inclusive, and adhere to equality and safeguarding policies.
  • Participating in service development and continual improvement processes.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a set timeframe.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a care setting, particularly with young people.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with The Children's Act and the Children's Social Care system is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills; the ability to work under pressure and effectively manage time.
  • Requirements: Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly across Kent and the surrounding area.
