Summary
Job title: PCV Technician
Location: Idle, West Yorkshire
Hours: 37 hours a week, 5 out of 7 days
Reporting to: Engineering Manager.
As a PCV Technician you will service, maintain and repair our fleet, in a safe, efficient and economical manner to the required legal, regulatory and company standards
PCV Technician Duties:
- To maintain, service and repair vehicles to meet or exceed the minimum legal, regulatory and company standards to ensure that the company operating licence is always protected, including the raising and completion of all necessary documentation in either a digital or paper format.
- To use our digital maintenance system Freeway in all day-to-day operations to maximise the benefit of efficiencies and data from the system.
- To carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- To undertake major unit changes on vehicles.
- To check and prepare vehicles for the annual DVSA inspection.
- To attend the breakdown of vehicles or any other emergencies as requested.
PCV Technician Skills:
- Level 3 NVQ / City and Guilds qualification or equivalent in vehicle maintenance, ideally bus and coach or heavy engineering.
- The ability to work as part of a team to ensure that work is completed to the required standard and service is met.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative whilst ensuring that legal, regulatory and company standards are always met.
- A good working knowledge of health and safety requirements and best practice in relation to working in a garage.
