Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' visual impairments and their individual rehabilitation needs.
Develop personalized rehabilitation plans that focus on enhancing clients' independence and quality of life.
Provide training in orientation and mobility skills, including public transport navigation and safe environmental awareness.
Offer guidance and support in daily living skills, such as cooking, personal care, and household management.
Collaborate with allied health professionals, educational institutions, and community services to ensure holistic support for clients.
Monitor and evaluate the progress of clients, adjusting rehabilitation plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
Advocate for clients' rights and access to necessary resources and services within the community.
Requirements
Degree in Rehabilitation, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field.
Professional qualification in visual impairment rehabilitation or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of visual impairments and the related challenges faced by individuals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
Experience working in community services or rehabilitation settings preferred.
Ability to develop and implement effective rehabilitation programs tailored to individual needs.
Proficient in the use of assistive technologies and resources for individuals with visual impairments.
