Family Help Team Manager

YMCA Bournemouth is commissioned to run Family Hub services on behalf of BCP council Early Help team until March 31st 2026. It is the role of the Family Help Team Manager to demonstrate visionary leadership and management in the delivery of YMCA Bournemouth’s Family Hub work across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole;
As Family Help Team Manager you will:
- Lead the work of the YMCA Family Help Team to ensure their success, accountability and continuous improvement and meet defined performance indicators and business strategies as outlined in SLA from BCP
- Allocate work for and line mange and supervise practitioners and volunteers to ensure the service is safe, efficient and of high quality
- Work collaboratively with a internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve services for whole families and give children the best start to life
You need:
- Recent experience of working with children, young people and their families with a proven track record in developing innovative practices to improve outcomes for them
- An ability to work closely and non-judgementally with other people, showing an understanding of boundaries and a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills
- The ability to prioritise competing demands, meet tight deadlines, co-ordinate workloads and delegate tasks
- A good understanding of early interventions and prevention, and safeguarding
Required qualification :
- A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 4 or Degree and/or Professional qualification in a relevant field such as Health, Social Care, Education, Housing, Family Work, Youth Work, Police
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
Salary (full-time role) £32,000.00 – £36,500.00 per annum, dependent on experience/qualifications.
The available role is for 40 hours per week (some evenings or weekends may be required on occasion).
