We are seeking experienced and qualified PIP2 Investigators to join Operation Olympos, a high-profile criminal investigation into Perjury and Perverting the Course of Justice. This investigation stems from the Post Office Horizon scandal, the most widespread miscarriage of justice in British legal history, where over 700 sub-postmasters were wrongfully prosecuted between 2001 and 2017.
The Role:
As a Police Staff Investigator, you will be part of a skilled team reviewing case material, creating detailed reports, timelines, and other investigative documents. You will engage with witnesses and individuals involved in the investigation, utilising advanced investigative interview techniques to contribute to this large-scale, SIO-led inquiry. The work will be conducted using the HOLMES system and will require in-depth research into corporate knowledge and system defects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review materials and produce comprehensive reports and timelines.
- Investigate corporate and individual knowledge related to the Horizon system's bugs, errors, and defects.
- Conduct investigative interviews with witnesses and other individuals involved in the case.
- Work closely with a national team of detectives and investigators to ensure the thorough progression of the investigation.
Requirements:
- Accredited PIP2 Investigator with relevant qualifications.
- Experience with the HOLMES system and conducting complex investigations.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and investigative skills.
- Willingness to engage in both regional and national investigations as required.
