The Head of Technical Services (Research Labs Services) plays a lead role in the successful implementation and delivery of the College of Science and Engineering’s (CoSE) strategy, policies, and objectives to fully achieve key University/College/School goals, specifically in relation to Research Excellence, and deliver improvements evidenced by internal and external measures. The successful candidate will make significant contributions to shaping the long-term strategic direction of the CoSE Technical Services, in partnership with senior leaders across the College and Schools.

The Head of Technical Services for Research Labs Services is responsible for the technical and operational support to all research laboratories in the College of Science and Engineering, managing the provision of a wide variety of technical and operational competence in the biological, instrumentation, geochemistry, chemistry and material fields.

The postholder will report to the Director of Technical Services and has responsibility to the Heads of School to support the development and delivery of the School’s strategies and business needs.

This post is full time (35 hours per week) and offered on an open ended (permanent) basis.
