We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to lead both the pre and post contract commercial function for SSE Smart Buildings Energy Systems sector, in line with strategy and budget. Provide leadership and direction within the business on commercial matters. Be responsible for ensuring a rigorous and controlled environment is in place to manage risk, cost and profitability across the portfolio of projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Provide bid team support, highlight risk and negotiate contracts in line with company processes and procedures.

- Upstream and downstream contract & commercial management for large projects mostly in the range of >£2m - £50m TCV. Lead and manage the commercial process and work closely with the Project Manager(s).

- Ensure upstream and downstream applications for payment are in place and billing occurs in accordance with the contract(s).

- manage risk and profitability effectively across the wider portfolio (as well as for individual larger projects) as well as assisting with forecasting and budget process across the business.

- Actively support the monthly review process and review overall commercial position for projects. Support the management of projects highlighting risks to the management team as required.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Previous experience of successfully carrying out a Quantity Surveying role on a large project £2m+.

- Strong knowledge and experience of Government Frameworks and Call Off Contracts.

- Strong knowledge and experience of standard form contracts - NEC/JCT/FIDIC.

- Highly experienced in financial control of projects, including cost control and other processes.

- Experience of dispute resolution processes.
