Summary

We are currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our acute directorate based at Great Oaks Hospital in Scunthorpe in the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team, which includes medical staff, nursing, psychological therapies, and others.

Using occupation as the foundation, and with an emphasis on rehabilitation, recovery, and empowerment, you will contribute to the delivery of assessments, individualised interventions, and therapy/care planning as part of the team. You will be the key worker for a defined number of service users whose primary need is for Occupational Therapy intervention.

If you are a person centred, compassionate Occupational Therapist with experience of working with patients experiencing mental health crisis, then we would welcome your application to join us.

The job is varied and challenging and offers the opportunity to be an integral part of the Crisis Pathway. Key elements of the post include taking the lead on the development of recovery and occupation focused interventions, building and refining a CRHTT occupational therapy pathway, to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, assessing occupational needs and providing evidence-based short-term, intensive, community based occupational therapy interventions to service users experiencing acute mental health crisis.

To supervise junior staff/support staff to deliver community interventions enabling service users to develop and/or maintain independent living skills and work towards individual recovery and vocational goals.

To develop links with statutory and voluntary sector community resources and ensure that ongoing occupational needs are addressed as part of a safe effective discharge/transfer process.

The Allied Health Professionals and occupational therapy network within the organisation is supportive, providing opportunities for collaboration and participation in development of practice and services and to build your own knowledge base and experience. The trust also encourages staff to be involved in wider integrated professional workstreams and development opportunities.

We have strong links with local universities and provide regular practice placements for Occupational Therapy students.
