Role: Tutor in Contemporary Art Theory at Edinburgh College of Art
Grade UE06: £33,882 to £39,105 Pro-rata
Applications are invited for a Guaranteed Hours (GH), fixed-term contract (until 31st May 2025) as a Tutor in Contemporary Art Theory on the following course:
Course ARTX11044: Themes in Contemporary Art (Semester 1) (78 hours)
The Opportunity:
We are seeking to appoint Tutors active in the expanded field of Contemporary Art Theory, to join a team of academic staff teaching the postgraduate MA Contemporary Art Theory programme. The successful candidates will assist with teaching, facilitation, feedback, and assessment across one or more of the programme’s five courses from the start of the 2024 academic year. Each course has three learning outcomes and sits within the MA Contemporary Art Theory programme.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Professional experience as an artist, art writer, critic, theorist, curator or arts producer
Experience of teaching with the field of Contemporary Art Theory (specifically: thematic inquiry, curating, art writing, criticism, art+anthropology, art+education.)
Ability to collaborate as part of a team with a collegial attitude, respect and sensitivity toward students and colleagues.
Ability to be able to apply your own professional experience to enhance student understanding
Ability to work confidently and imaginatively with an international student cohort
