Summary

About the role:
• To provide professional advice and guidance on fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections and all other aspects of fire safety to Powys County Council's Housing service. The Housing stock is approximately 5400 properties.
• To work collaboratively with colleagues and partners.
About you:
• Excellent organisational skills.
• High level of literacy, numeracy, accuracy and analytical skills.
• Excellent communicator
• Able to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines.
What you will do:
• To assist the Compliance Manager in all matters relating to fire safety.
• Provide specialist professional knowledge to ensure homes and buildings within the council housing stock and private sector are mananged in a safe manner.
• Provide technical fire safety support to colleagues.
• Deliver a risk-based programme of visits, inspections & audits & report findings and recommendations in order to comply.
• Undertake fire risk assessments and audits on the safety of properties within the Powys Housing Stock.
• Keep up to date with emerging and changing legislation & guidance affecting building legislation.
• Act as liaison officer to the Health & Safety Executive, Fire & Rescue service and other regulatory bodies where required.
This position has a requirement for a Standard DBS Check
