A bit about me:
I am a lively 8 year old boy and I live with my parents and two brothers. I like to stay active. I enjoy visiting parks, farms, swimming pools, boomerang (soft play) and I love "welly walks". I am a well behaved, happy boy but I don’t like loud noises or being around a lot of people for a long period of time. I have ear defenders to help me with this. I am non-verbal, but I communicate my needs well through either using my speech device, pointing, or occasionally I will use single words to express how I’m feeling.
About the role:
To Provide respite for my parents and to help me access the community. Main duties are: Prompting and encouraging communication, personal care, keeping the child active and arranging activities. To be confident in working with young people. Good communication and social skills. Empathetic and be able to make sensible judgements.
The kind of person I am looking for:
Someone who is fun, motivated and a reliable individual. The ability to act in an understanding, patient, calm and non-judgmental manner. Previous experience of autism.
