Summary


Applications are invited for the following post: Locum Consultant in General Anaesthesia for 6 months extendable to a year. There are 2 posts.

This post is advertised to support the anaesthetic department at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will share a 1:20 General on call at the Hull Royal Infirmary site.

The anaesthetic department provides services across two hospital sites, Hull Royal Infirmary (HRI) and Castle Hill Hospital (CHH). All paediatric and neonatal services are based on the Hull Royal Infirmary site as are all obstetric services. There are 73 consultants including 6 Locum Consultants within the department who provide in excess of 30,000 anaesthetics per year to a vast range of surgical specialties and many other clinical areas. The post has been developed to support expansion in surgical workload within the Trust.

A standard full time Job Plan will contain 10 programmed activities. 7.5 planned day time DCCs over 3 days in a week and 1 DCC for the on call. 1.5 SPA will be allocated towards CPD of which 1 PA can be done flexibly.

Any extra programmed activities will be agreed at the job planning process with the Clinical Director Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a University Teaching Hospital with 1293 beds and an annual budget of around £500 million. The Trust supports a variety of tertiary services and is both a Major Cancer Centre and Major Trauma Centre.
