Summary


Outpatient Midwifery Matron - 37.5 hours - Permanent

We are looking for a Senior Midwife who is highly motivated and influential; someone who is looking to make a difference to both service user and staff experience. Do you have the ability to be motivational and inspirational, with a passion for providing high quality care and looking for the next step in your midwifery career? The Midwifery Matron will work in partnership with both the senior midwifery team and the wider leadership team to deliver the quality agenda for the Division. You will work in conjunction with the maternity leadership team, providing senior advice, support and strategic leadership utilising professional challenge where necessary. You will be focused on maternity care and committed to maintaining strong professional oversight and governance which is fundamental to the quality and safety of our services. You will have a portfolio of areas and staff to manage and develop, whilst being a positive role model. There will be a requirement to lead on delegated projects within the division and assist with the shaping the divisional midwifery direction and strategy with a focus on recruitment and retention working. The role will support the development of a culture within the service which is open and honest, empowering innovation. The expectation will be a responsibility to assist the senior midwifery team with the development and delivery of clinical services and professional standard.

To work in partnership with the senior midwifery team, and to provide professional and operational leadership and management of the services, delivery a safe quality service while meeting financial targets. To provide expert advice within the maternity service in the absence of the Deputy Head of Midwifery regarding professional midwifery issues. Together with the senior team the post holder will support the Chief Nurse/Director of Nursing with the delivery of the wider corporate professional agenda. This includes the development of innovative strategies for midwifery to enable a strong empowered workforce at all levels that is fit for purpose and equipped to deliver excellence in care standards.
