Summary

At the Stratford Health Centre - The Forest Practice, you will be working towards the Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3, over the duration of 18 months, alongside your daily roles and responsibilities.

You will have a variety of daily roles and responsibilities across four main areas; Reception, Appointment Management, Prescription Management and General Administration.

Reception;

- Greet Patients politely and ensure the appointment system is run efficiently

- Ensure Patients are kept informed appropriately if a GP is running late or has been called out

- Register new Patients and book in for an NHS health-check if required

- Be confident where emergency equipment and drugs are located within the building

- Ensure all noticeboards and communication contains relevant information and are kept up to date

Appointment Management;

- Be confident with the EMIS system in booking appointments and understand availability of GP's, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants

- Follow up appointment bookings with review, and follow up with any system messages advising of additional services/ reviews that should be offered to the Patient

- Ensure sufficient appointments are blocked off for 'Urgent' scenarios and Telephone Consultations as required by the Practice

Prescription Management;

- Ensure Prescription Requests are handled effectively in line with our Practice policy

- Generate electronic prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as required

- Make regular checks of prescriptions to be collected and follow up appropriately

General Administration;

- Ensure all relevant Patient interaction is appropriately and accurately recorded on the Patient's electronic file as it occurs

- Ensure paper records are kept accurately, tidy and are easily retrievable

- Handle deductions effectively ensuring relevant medical records are transferred appropriately to the receiving Practice

- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environments at all times

This is not an exhaustive list of duties, there will be additional tasks to perform within your skill set from time to time.

Please note that this role will involve working across both of our practices, Stratford Health Centre and The Forest Practice.
